R&F DRAWING OIL STICK MARS RED

R&F DRAWING OIL STICK MARS RED

Taking inspiration from R&F Pigment Sticks®, R&F DRAWING OILS™ offer a smooth & portable drawing experience with a harder formulation (less oil, more wax).

Unlike oil pastels, crayons, or chalk, R&F DRAWING OILS™ will dry to form a permanent, protective oil film. No need for fixative.

The size, shape, and formulation make R&F DRAWING OILS™ ideal for play and practice, pairing well with your favorite sketchbooks, stretched canvas and panels.

Professional, handmade oil sticks
- Loaded with rich pigment
- Made with linseed oil and natural waxes
- Harder formula for clean, controlled marks
- Dries to a permanent, protective film — no fixative needed

R&F Drawing Oils are handmade in small batches with the same formula as the brand’s bestselling Pigment Sticks. They’ve got the depth and brilliance of true oil paint, but in a harder, smoother 12 ml stick — less oil, more natural wax. That firmer feel means they hold a point for controlled linework and clean layering, yet they’re still smooth enough for expressive gestures. If you love the richness of oil color but want the precision of a drawing tool, these are made for you.

Many drawing materials have long-term archival issues. Oil pastels never fully dry, and soft pastels, chalk, and charcoal stay loose, requiring fixative and glass. R&F Drawing Oils don't have those problems — they dry completely to a permanent, smudge-resistant oil film and never need fixative. With no added driers, drying time varies by pigment.

Great for travel, quick studies, and on-the-spot color work, each stick measures about 3-3/8" long — slightly smaller than Pigment Sticks. They blend easily with oil painting mediums, Pigment Sticks, or tube oils, and dry to a permanent matte finish. Use them for sketchbook work, plein air studies, underpaintings, or final details. Apply with brushes for watercolor-like washes, blending stumps for soft transitions, or a firm eraser for reductive techniques.

Because they’re made with linseed oil, they naturally form a thin protective skin on the outside. This layer preserves the fresh paint inside; just sharpen, slice, or draw on scrap paper for fresh color.
